WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Life Is Just a Game

Posted over 2 years ago
p=. A million years ago, when Level 42 were at the height of their popularity, a bass-playing friend told me to check out Stanley Clarke if I liked that kinda bass. So when I found his _School Days_ in a crate on a street market, I was happy to spend the 10 Deutschmarks (maybe $ 5). There's a lot of great Jazz-Funk on the album, "The Dancer" especially, but my favourite turned out to be this lush tune here. It's one of the songs I turn to when I get too confused by me, life, and the rest. The lyrics consist of a mere 3 lines which may be trivial, but therefore, they always apply:_Life is just a game, and there's many ways to play, and all you do is choose..._Check on mog/tiply for the album :-)

  8. mickimicki says five-four, I feel a bit ignorant but I don't know who Les Claypool is... gotta research.. 9Mile, I'm glad you liked it. And Poe, I love that you say "coolio", I thought nobody but me and my "BFF" were still saying that... coolio!

  9. poebegone says micki, LOL (does anyone still say that?), wait 'til i tell ya that i also use "yikes" sometimes. Les Claypool was the Flea of Primus (they of Pork Soda fame; and, okay, he plays bass and sings), but i guess the internet can also tell you all that.

  11. TBoom says It's funny, the beginning reminds me so much of Kansas. Anyway, I really like Stanley Clarke's bass. I many have to take out that Animal Logic CD I have and give it another try. Les Claypool may actually be best known for this But I'm sure he would rather be best known for Primus or his other projects.
