atman wrote a "post":http://mog.com/atman/blog_post/40894 today about an apparent lack of Monster Magnet related posts on Mog. Thats a sad state of affairs and I'm doing something about it NOW! Here's the tune that got me hooked on them. This version of "Nod Scene" (from their 1990 "self-titled EP":http://www.discogs.com/release/499931 - a German release! yay!) is simpler in production than their later stuff, but that just makes it all the more hypnotic. I immediately dug their raw presence which in their best songs has a Stooges-like intensity. So people, don't overlook Monster Magnet no more!(Never mind the video to the song - I couldn't find a better one, *and* this one has the EP version, not the one from "Spine of God", which, albeit good, doesn't have the "Raw Power" of this cut.
