WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Millencolin

Millencolin's latest release, Machine 15, came out a couple of months ago - but just recently made it on to Amazon's MP3 store (link above). I have to say - this has always been a favorite band of mine, and the new album totally rocks. Millencolin is a swedish group with a mid 90's american punk band style that I totally dig. Plus they are pretty decent skaters:

I was looking at all the albums they have put out - albums that I have grown up loving, and was surprised to realize that this is a little known band I have been following and loving for just about 10 years now.

Besides making me feel old, it helped remind me of my enormous appreciation for the punk music of my generation. When I was too young to listen to music, punk was too noisy and raw. Nowadays, its too poppy, cheesy, generic. I just cant get into it. But many of the bands I listened to in middle/high school deliver baby-bear balance and still rock out 10 years later. There have been plenty of KILLER recent releases from now-aging bands from my youth. Some highlights: Less Than Jake (In With The Out Crowd), NOFX (Wolves in Wolves Clothing), Bad Religion (New Maps of Hell), The Offspring (Rise, Fall, Rage and Grace), to name my recent favorites. These albums are all FANTASTIC, and come with my highest recommendation. I love these bands because they consistently put out albums that you can listen to like albums instead of just singles and filler. I thought I would pass along the recommendation and remind people that these bands are still around and still doing great work. Check 'em out!

Like you I have a huge love for this band. I remember the first time I heard For Monkeys, and I have not turned back since. I will say that this album was a bit of a disappointment for me though, not sure why I havent grown to love it as much as I have all their other albums. In fact it is the one album by them I have not gotten yet, and maybe I just need to head out an go get it. Love the video you posted, I still have a VHS tape with it on it.
