So if the weather where you are is anything like it's been here in the Northeast, then you're likely in need of some happyslappy wakeup tunes... either that or stay in bed with your rainboots on. Anyway, yet another mashup I don't know who to attribute to DJ-wise, but a killer combination of Scissor Sisters, The Beatles, George Michael and even a brief moment of Aretha. Hey, they had me at the beatles and George, but when it all comes together I am SOLD. Hope you kids enjoy!

Ok, so I'm gonna come right out here and admit that I'm posting this song for two reasons. One, Lenny Lobster (it's best not to think about the name too hard) is a fantastic rapper, with solid flow, and a pretty universal appeal to those who don't traditionally dig hip hop, and hip hop fans alike. And, two, because I would love to see him live, and it seems like there's really no following for him in the US yet (he's from Germany originally). Anyway, give it a listen, and, trust me here, I think it's pretty irresistible. His whole album, the Short Story, is fantastic. A real kind of J5, pharcyde easy-to-love feel that reels so many in...

i'm feelin' this. but his name is very unfortunate...
I know I know... I think it makes people think he's a joke or something, but maybe we could import him to the US and then start calling him Lsquared or something... I'm having the same worry about the Dykeenies, who I also am loving right now. Although, in their case, it might be a draw.
So there are some mashups that just destroy both (or all of) the great songs being combined... As an amateur at making them, this is what happens to me most of the time (I mean, I learned the hard way that Madonna's Like A Prayer was just never meant to have any of the backbeats from Dre's 2001 dropped in). But then, there are a few that make you wonder how these songs ever existed separate from one another. Now this may be a bold statement, but I think that Tribe's Can I Kick It, and Lou Reed's Take A Walk on the Wildside are just such a combination. I downloaded this from a torrent, so unfortunately I can't site the musical master behind this, but I figured I'd share nonetheless!
