still mogging from afar
i have not given up on mog, my computer has given up on me...my computer crapped out, along with my music and mog connection. i have been using a laptop and can only listen to the rolling stones and the beatles. so that's what i've been listening to on the computer. my stereo is fully functional, thankfully, so i have been out buying stuff..vinyl:talking heads - remain in lighttalking heads - more songs about buildings and foodiggy pop - brick by bricknas - hip hop is deadthe byrds - greatest hitsthe last poets/dead prez/common - panther single (8 tracks)madness - complete madnessnas - i can/heaven single (6 tracks)nas - made you look/the cross single (4 tracks)spirit - the family that plays togetherghostface killah - more fishduran duran - riomemphis bleek - the understandingcd:pixies - monkey gone to heaven (maxi-single) 1989 tracks: monkey gone to heaven, manta ray, weird at my school, dancing the manta ray.....i hear the new modest mouse album is on it's way...exciting!also, i need neutral milk hotel to come out with something new...i want to buy in the aeroplane over the sea on vinyl. ....i've been trying to get into rap and hip hop more, latley. the idea of sifting through this genre has always seemd a little daunting. i know what i like but am unsure where to begin, as it's history as extensive as any other. maybe you can help?i don't like soulful r&b. i like nas, ghostface, snoop, dre, memphis bleek, bubba sparxx, modill... but i am mostly lost from there. associated words that i'd use would be dark, low, deep, real, heavy, chicago, south.suggestions?
