Defending Kanye West is one of the easiest things for me too do these days. Let's face it, 90% of the time it's people telling me he's to arrogant, and that's just not valid enough for me, and you're probably just "too sensitive" (as this new Kanye tracks spells out). Anyway my point is really that I have so much respect for Kanye's persona and his music (and i'll admit it, I love the guys attitude too); even more respect for his production skills.
With that in mind, I'm completely ready for some new Kanye joints and here's the first thing to trickle out. The new album is titled "Graduation" and is supposedly coming out September 18th (as quoted from Kanye's mom on MTV a few weeks back). There's a bunch of other random, uncomfirmed info floating around the web too, like: A song (1st single) called "Stronger", featuring a sample from none other than Daft Punks "Harder, Faster, Stronger, Better", guest apperances from the likes of Beyonce, Chris Martin, Jessica Simpson, and John Mayer (wow, that sucks all around...oh well), as well as three tracks produced by DJ Toomp (yes!). One of those three is the first song to hve hit the web, and the one I have for you today called "Can't Tell Me Nothing". It's definetely good stuff, nice slow moving beat, Kanye playing it a little too safe, and a bit weak on the vocals, but it's a nice bit of something as a "street single" to get everyone excited for the new album and possibly a real single sometime soon. Plus you know everyone's (or at least all the obnoxious high school b-boys and b-girls, and yours truely) will be singing the hook "Excuse me, were you saying something? Uh uh, you can't tell me nothing!"
check out Kanye West's new track "Can't Tell Me Nothing" with what I'm thinking is Young Jeezy in the background, kind of weird that Kanye didn't have him lay down a verse, just kind of has him making some awkward noises in the background, ha.
