So school has started, and at Berkeley High that means i get to see kids "slappin" music out of their ipods all the time, what kind of music you ask? Why "hyphy" of course, since we are in the bay, excuse me, yay area. I'll admit, it's catchy, it's fun, and damn it if i don't even enjoy it sometimes, but amidst it all i picked up a record that i swear was actually underneath my bed. How it got there I really couldn't say, but boy am I happy that I did find it again. But wait, what is this mystery piece of indie pop greatnessness, why it's Saturday Looks Good To Me's wonderfuly catchy album "Every Night". From begining to end it's packed with split male/female vocals, ridiculous amounts of instruments that were most likely purchased at a childrens toy store, and of course that kind of warmth you get from some lo-fi 4 track set up. I'll admit, it's hard for me to label indie pop bands these days, i've used up all my adjectives, so perhaps one of the bands bio's tells the story better:"Saturday Looks Good To Me is a pop band with no members, a sound with no story." That's right, over the years SLGTM has consisted of over 75 touring/recording members as well as attics full of unlabeled 4-track tapes. Fred Thomas, multi-instrumetalist and only contant member helps to craft intellegent and familiar sounding pop, yet makes it all still seem new and exciting. I think it's official to say, that with the exception of Pas/Cal they have my money for pop music comming out of Detroit, really pop in general. But what does any of this matter if you all can't hear the tunes...enjoy it people, it's such great stuff, it'll make your day, in fact SLGTM are so hardcore that they throw up flowers....true story

max says yeah for real, such a good album, i wish i could have found more tracks off it to post, as well as the cd version of when the party ends instead of the LP version, becuase a lot of these aren't really my favorite tracks, but oh well @steve yeah man, it feels good to get up another post, it's been too long
