SJD

Okay, so no one's giving love to the video of "SJD's":http://www.myspace.com/sjdmusic Beautiful Haze I posted below. That song was like bubblegum for me when I first heard it, or maybe the Hint of Lime Tostito-brand corn chips that you can't stop eating because they're drowning in MSG. But still no love. Fine. I don't get it, but I accept it.Here, I present you with the new single off of his new album. It's called I Wrote This Song For You, and "according to one commentator":http://thewireless.blogspot.com/2007/06/i-wrote-this-song-sjd_30.html who should know about these things, it represents a harking back to the bedroom cassettes of his youth, while others say it represents an exciting new direction.I don't know about any of that -- I've not followed Sean James Donnelly's career all that closely. I've liked most of the singles that have popped up on "bFM":http://www.95bfm.co.nz/ over the years, and like these singles enough to want to buy the album when I'm back in New Zealand. This tune is a neat little number, even if it reminds me of Flight of the Conchords with the 'and put it on a tape recorder' line. So go ahead, have a listen. After all, he wrote it for you.

  1. dachmo says I like the song, I like the video. Maussist are you SJD? because the picture of you at the ballgame next to the picture you posted of SJD bares a striking resemblance to one another.

  2. maussist says With the same broad foreheads, blond(ish) hair, and the rugged good looks of men raised on the wild beaches of Auckland, New Zealand, I can see how you'd think that. But, as you can see, I am smiling in the photo at the ballgame, and SJD never, ever smiles.

  3. dachmo says Yeah, I see what your saying. That SJD guy kind of looks like a bit of a wanker too, Y'know what I mean, "A Big Girls Blouse", A pooftah. Wouldn't you agree? ;-)
