Mike Watt turned fifty on the 22nd, and I wanted to send out a hearty happy birthday to him.

This probably is not insightful. Yet pretty much every indie rock kid who has the pleasure of talking to Mike experienced something instructional about this person (and there are a lot of indie rock kids who Mike Watt has talked with).

What I learned was that being talented and having an inability to empathize with humans are absolutely not connected, and he is thriving proof of that happy lesson.

But I can't help add to mine to his heap of best wishes.
