Dr. Dog filters the gamut of American popular music into its own idiosyncratic brand of blue-eyed, dilated-pupil soul. (Listen Now!) The band makes magic from an enduring pop palette of intricate harmonies, shape-shifting melodies, and ramshackle audio ingenuity-all presented through a slightly skewed and utterly individualistic outlook. Reviewing their latest album, last year's extraordinary Fate, Blender magazine said "They sprinkle their down-home mix of hook and harmony with doo-wop and jamboree, and their influences are as clear as good-day sunshine: the Beatles, the Beatles listening to the Beach Boys, the Band."
Northampton indie-folk-pop faves The Winterpills open with "vocals [that] are weighty and potent, haunting the lyrical dreamscape songs ... mesmerizing and otherworldly." -- No Depression. (Listen Now!)
