Bang Bang- So This Is Love

Posted almost 5 years ago
Let me think back to my youth. Does anyone remember this band?I think they came out in 87 or 88. They played them alot in So Cal and were featured on Richard Blade's show.I am always curious on what happened to them. I know Bennett Salvey went on to write tv tunes, but I am not sure about the other guys. I heard after they were Bang Bang them became a band called the Dead Presidents? If anyone remembers them, knows what happened to any of them I would love to hear. I hearted them and Tristen the most!Yes I am a child of the 80s, thank you very much! This is why I love YOUTUBE!!!!

  1. LaFemmeMonkita says I saw them at the Roxy in 1987! Then, I found out that my then-boyfriend went to high school with Desi (they graduated in 1983). I saw him at the 10 year high school reunion years later and he had like two kids, etc! Wow, this brings back memories!

Ha - "Tristen" is my brother!  Though he stopped being Tristen 20+ years ago.  He did go on with Julian with Dear Mr. Presidents and then after that he was with Stevie Salas Colorcode.  Then he went into the studio - became an audio sound engineer.  Desi is my bro-in-law and he and his family live in a suburb of Chicago.  Tristen goes by his real name (CJ) and you can check him out at

Fun to hear nice words about my bro during that time.  It was how I met my husband and we danced many a night away at Bang Bang shows in Hollywood!  Glad others enjoyed the music as much as we did!

I'm dating Desi's son! I didn't know of his band until I met them, but I was very impressed & excited about it. His son has told me of these bands they toured with. It's very cool. (:
