Last night with High On Fire

What can I say? The show was great and today I feel a bit hungover.....blah! The PA for High On Fire was a bit out of adjustment making it a bit hard to hear the vocals at times. The opening bands were Mono, Panther and Coliseum. I had never heard of any of these guys before. Mono was an interesting Japanese version of a Pink Floyd-copy band from the late sixties. No vocals, just "Careful With That Ax Eugene" kinda stuff. Each song started out slow and built up to a loud and heavy lead guitar climax toward the end. I almost expected Roger Waters to appear at any minute with a few blood-curdling screams for effect. This would be a good act to catch on Halloween. Tomorrow night it's off to Charlotte to check out the Foo Fighters.
