David Lindley ~ Soul of a Man

Posted over 3 years ago

I saw David Lindley in Philly almost twenty years ago .... and again just a few days ago in a very small venue (like 80ppl lol) ... think I was expecting a bit of a rock show- but was very pleased to be in the presence of this instead :-)

I caught David years ago in an acoustic duet with Ry Cooder (you know he does not perform in public often) and again recently in a cofee house in Berkeley. If you go to one of his gigs, he is likely to talk about bootlegs but you can provide some tangible support by buying his excellent live recordings, most of which are not in release. He has been amazing for years, ever since Kalidioscope and I think the video included sections of Taxim (spelling) from Beacon From Mars. If in the mood, he will also reminisce about Warren Zevon and perform some Zevon songs.
