WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Rhapsody - Subscription Music

Posted over 2 years ago
I figured my first post should be about a service which connects you to thousands upon thousands of songs and artists. That service is Rhapsody. I currently subscribe to Rhapsody-To-Go which I use with my Creative Zen Vision M. This To-Go feature is the main reason I do not have an Ipod. With To-Go I can not only transfer tracks to my computer, but I can also transfer them to my Zen all for $14.99 per month. Its like renting a HUGE music collection. I read recently that Steve Jobs and Apple may be considering this type of service and if they do maybe I'll get an Ipod, until then I'm plenty satisfied with Rhapsody. It's not a perfect service, but it works for me. Rhapsody is a really great service if you like Jazz, since you will find a very good selection of albums. I've even seen that more labels have come on board lately with ECM now posting some albums (they were unavailable until now). I'm not sure how artists feel about Rhapsody, but the model makes sense to me - the subscriber rents music - like instant netflix for music.

  1. anirtak says I have Unlimited since I don't own an mp3 player. I am on the computer enough that it is the best option for me. The price is great given the quantity available. I didn't know about MOG until recently but again I think it is right on. I wished at times that there was a "note" function on rhapsody where I could type in things I thought about a band ect...MOG will suffice but I also use RYM. Thanks for the post.
