MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Artist:
Album:

Summer is in full swing up in the North East. We're sweating it out in the heavy air that filling every pore of our existence. So we've opened all the windows and prayed for even the slightest breeze to shuffling things up a bit. It's too hot to think.

So while sitting in my little urban backyard, sipping cold beer on a Sunday, staring at the sky, I've found the perfect soundtrack: the amazing new album by Growing, "Color Wheel". I just can't get enough of it - I keep repeating it again and again. It's one of those albums that gets under you skin. When it ends, I get this empty feeling, like the heat and humidity are winning the battle all of a sudden, like without the soundtrack, the film stops...

The end of the album in itself is amazing: something like fog horn blasts (probably some MOOG excellence) that pulses with it's low drone, punctuating the clouds, piercing the sky and magically sending rain.

Make sure to check out the cover story on Growing in this month's Arthur Magazine.

Ambient, droning, melodic... very, very simple, but beautiful.
