The more mellow side of Bjork's new album. Great duet.

Bjork Volta mini review

She's back. Her best in years. More than upbeat, there are some happy happy dance tracks on Volta (that's right, double happiness). Every Timbaland track is bangin (I can see JT dancing to them easily.) If you've been listening you will have already heard two of them. The third, Hope, is only slightly more soft dance track due to the kora and tabla(?). But its not only glowsticks and acid on th...

Los Abandoned, Mix Tape mini review

You know those songs where the someone sings non-words like “na na na na” or “woo who, woo who who”. Well, Los Abandoned has “hada/ho hada/ho” and I enjoy it immensely. It’s a fun release and I’ve been listening to it a lot. They definitely have a pop-punk sound but I would also say they sound like Blink-182, Julieta Venegas, The Smiths, and 1950’s rock and roll. This is my first exposure to the band so I didn’t know what to expect. It is an interesting album that reminds me of Prince and The Rolling Stones a little. Pretty good over all with a couple of standout tracks, “Wolf Like Me” and “A Method”. They have a very rich and epic sound. I’m interested in hearing their previous release.

I’m sad to say I was a little disappointed with his debut. I have liked his production work especially as part of The Neptunes so I was really looking forward to some funky stuff. Nothing was really worth mentioning except the track “Angel” which was catchy.

After two listens I consider this very very good, on the verge of excellence. If you like Radiohead’s electronica sound like Backdrifts and Idioteque, then this will really appeal to you. I might even buy this.

Fantastic trance/techno track. Has a similar feel to "Welcome to Paradise" by Front 242.
