Gads, it's been a bit. I've been nicely distracted by all the other MOGs. So here's to distraction. And lurking!Bob and the boys put in a very good show (the second of the SF dates). While Bob's at the top of his game -- as are George Ricselli and Tony Garnier -- I'm not enthralled with the two guitarsts. The multi-insturmentalist, Danny, is very good but tends to get lost in the mix at almost every show I've seen w/ him in the band (4x, I believe). On the other hand, "Workingman's Blues, #2" was just extraordinary. As was the night's treat, "John Brown." Even two mediocre guitarists can't screw up that song.Friend of mine born and bred in Philly, during the 60s, finally saw Dylan about a week later (in San Diego where Bob pulled out "every grain of sand"). Awe mixed with regret at not having been to a show in about 20 years. (Not that the '80s were particularly interesting period for the old man from Minnesota.) All I can say to Pete Townsend (in re: his petulant little interview in the current RS): Since you haven't put out a new album in, like, decades, please pipe down.
