oh, baby, i wonder if when you are older someday you’ll wake up and say, ’my god, i should have told her - what would it take?
when i saw aimee play, while i was visiting chicago on valentine's day, this was one of the songs she played. i was thrilled as this is from one of my most favorite albums of hers, and not one that gets much notice.
i'm not sure if i have written about my deep love for aimee mann, and her lyrical storytelling. if i were ever to write that novel that rolls around in my head she would be a big part of the soundtrack that would flow through the pages.
so that’s today’s memory lane with all the pathos and pain another chapter in a book where the chapters are endless and they’re always the same a verse, then a verse, and refrain
i sent this to a friend today, someone who brings music into my life, and warmth the surpasses that summer sun.
this is tied with my favorite song for the fourth of july. the other i cannot seem to find.
my best friend mentioned that she sees today as a day of new starts. as someone who has never been fond of the fireworks and drunken stupidity i saw around me on other independence day's i quite like her idea for it.
so happy independence/gunpowder and sky/new start/fourth of july, mog!

happy 4th to you as well Lucy, second time I saw this today, and have loved it each time I viewed it. I can see today being a day to start a new, and thinking of the 4th that way is an excellent way to head to bed.
