'Stratford-On-Guy' by Liz Phair will always be special to me. I'm not sure why; I remember the exact moment I fell in love with it; on a flight back from Louisville, KY to Detroit, MI... it was on the headphones of my 'walkman CD' during descent into the Detroit area, nighttime... the city was all lit up.
That moment was 14 years ago, and I was 21 years old at the time. Maybe it was a coming of age moment or something. I felt completely present. And emotional. And eyes wide open. I'll never forget it - or the song.
