Artists You Should Know About

Posts

Haven't posted in a while but thought I would spread a little holiday cheer Bob Geldof style. Heard this on the radio today and it really kicks off the holiday for me. I had forgotten that so many 80's stars were in this video. Sorry to be sappy, but this song reminds me to think beyond my little world and about those who are less fortunate. Nuff said FEED THE WORLD LET THEM KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!

I was just thinking about this the other day. My older sis was a 70's girl and I used to sit outside her room and hear Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder and Led Zep. My middle sis was a punk rocker turned rasta so I used to hear the Slits and the Bad Brains coming from her room. Funny to think about. What did you hear? I'm talking about music, of course.

Great post! I had two older brothers...lets see, and I am 31...from one room I heard the J Geils Band and Queen....and from my oldest brother's room a ton of Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio...i have kind of landed in the middle!

Unfortunately I don't have any brothers or sisters so I guess I will have to settle for cousins. My cousins are from New York and an average a good five years older than myself. But my most memorable experiences with them have always revolved around music, because they were always really into hip hop, more specifically east coast rap. I thank them for any hip hop knowledge that I do have! Good post btw

I was always so jealous of the kid in Almost Famous and that moment when his sister shared her record collection with him...love that scene...love that movie!

Not running from the law but just plain ol' running.

I'm burned out on my old Bob Marley, Dead Prez, JayZ, Mos Def mix.

What's the dream running album? or mix?

I can't run due to my tar-blackened lungs, but when I walk, and I want to walk fast it's New Order's "Blue Monday".

Sigur Ros' "Takk..."

Not kidding. It's the soundtrack to my life.

I like "Human Wheels" by John Melancamp - just has a good gait to it. Also, recommend AC/DC Highway to Hell for street running.
