Snoopy Come Home & hollAnd and Sprites

Posted over 5 years ago
A long time ago I tried looking for a song called "Do You Remember Me?" from the movie Snoopy Come Home (my favorite childhood movie). In the movie, Snoopy's previous owner (before Charlie Brown) writes Snoopy a letter because she's basically dying in a hospital and she misses his company. There's a montage in which the song Do You Remember Me? plays...and it's really beautiful, and i swear, it'll make you cry. So i have Soulseek in constant search of this song. sometimes it turns up results but theyre usually not downloadable or it's not what i want. it just turned up a song called "It Changes"...a very melancholy song, i think charlie brown originally sings this once Snoopy runs away from home to his old owner. Another sad sad song that will probably make you cry. (this movie is so sad) Anyway, apparently, there's a band named Sprites that covers this song. I just acquired it and it's really good. I read up on the band on their website....to read THIS: # "Sprites formed in 2002 following the unspectacular implosion of Jason Korzen's former band Barcelona. Jason spent a long winter in his basement recording demos on a four track. The resulting demos turned into a full length LP for March Records, "Starling, Spiders, Tiger and Sprites" that was released in early 2003. The album was produced and recorded by longtime friend and sometime collaborator, trevor/hollAnd."

If you don't know hollAnd, you should. DO IT NOW. i'll give it to you now. it's electronic loveliness and it is all good song after good song. you might like him if you like somethin of the Postal Service or that type. hollAnd is a former childstart turned musician. The album "Starling Spiders Tiger and Sprites" by Sprites is the one with the Snoopy Come Home track on it.here's Sprites website...http://www.sprites.org.uk
Sprites myspace page (interestingly the only songs i like on his page is from the "Starling Spiders" album)and some hollAnd music at some website called Rhapsody - click hereeerererereand finally I JUST found It Changes AND Do You Remember Me? on Y OU TUBE!! thank you you tube. i love you .

  1. staxman says "Snoopy Come Home" was finally released on DVD this year. I hadn't seen it in years and I had forgotten how melancholy the songs were (other than the title song). I don't know why, but I still have a strong emotional attachment to this cartoon. The whole loss and seperation vibe to the story, maybe?

  2. lisbetho says it was!? im gonna have to get it now. the last time i saw this movie was about three years ago when my roommate bought it on VHS. not only are the songs very melancholy, but theyre all very good. the animation/editing is pretty poignant in combination with it. it makes sense you would have an emtional attachment...i mean just look at it! someone left a comment on youtube saying charles schulz lost his mother on the day he was being initiated into the military. the end of the "it changes" song where Charlie Brown talks about how "everyone leaves" reminded me of this...and it's just so true and sad. it makes sense because it just all holds so true for anyone.

  3. leftoverking says yep, it's out. we watched it here, and it is sad. i like when snoopy cries and the tears fly out in all directions. it's funny as hell when he wants all of his stuff back that he gives away when he leaves charile to be with his old owner. classic.
