The B-52’s have just completed recording a brand new album, their first in 15 years, with producer Steve Osborne (KT Tunstall, New Order, Manic Street Preachers) and programmers Damian Taylor (Bjork) and Pete Davis (New Order). Set for an early 2008 release, it maintains the band’s classic party vibe, but with a more modern direction. "There's more electronica on it," he said. "It's up-tempo and a bit sexed-up. It's sexier than ever,” says Fred. There’s no doubt that fans are looking forward to this new release. Thirty years into their career, the B-52’s continue to keep the party going, serving up their own unique blend of music and showmanship to millions of people worldwide, and with no signs of slowing down. I grew up listening to the B-52's and had the rare opportunity of seeing them perform at the Fillmore in SF about 5 years back. It was a good deal of fun, although I couldn't help but notice that they were getting up there in years. It was after all their 25th anniversary tour.
Despite the fact that these guys are pretty old, they are nowhere close to being burnt-out. I look forward to their 2008 release with hopeful anticipation. In honor of their upcoming album, I thought I'd play one of my favorite songs off of "Time Capsule: Songs For a Future Generation." A fitting title seen as most of their songs were recorded a decade before I was even conceived.

My Trusted MOGs
I don't wear a wig. Not yet maybe for Halloween you never know. But this is wicked song.
As you said, it's always good news to hear from a band we like...
