WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

now you're on the trolley!

Norah Jones has never been one of my favorite artists, mainly because most of her songs sound exactly the same to me. So I was pleasantly surprised when I came across "Sinkin' Soon," a kicky tune from her latest album. The combination of the piano, banjo, trumpet, and sultry voice of Miss Jones makes me want to throw on my "glad rags":1920 and curl up in a booth at a swanky "juice joint":1920 with a cold glass of "giggle water.":1920[1920]http://local.aaca.org/bntc/slang/slang.htm

  1. Bartleby says Thanks for this refreshing cut by Ms Jones (which sounds quite like Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35") Have you seen Ms Jones's acting in "My Blueberry Nights?" Not that I'd recommend it, try "Chungking Express" for a proper sinking moon.

  2. Sauce says wonderful, I love the harmonies and the old style trumpet in this one. Sure most of her songs sound the same, but they're usually pretty good!

  3. Bartleby says Do you guys know her half sister, Anoushka Shankar? I personally she is the more talented of Ravi Shankar's offspring (see one of my first posts)

  4. lilja88 says I do recall your post about Miss Shankar. I forgot that she was related to Norah Jones, though! It's beautiful. Indian music has a way of soothing and entrancing me...
