Hugh Mundell

Posted over 5 years ago
Hugh Mundells' career was cut short after being shot in 1983. Before that he'd Dj'd a little for Augustus Pablo before starting his own solo career but as sad as it is that is about the extent of my knowlage about Hugh. Legends never die though.... so long as we dont forget the struggle. Ironically, he released an album called "Africa Must Be Free By 1983" and that was the year he was shot.Rest In Peace......

  2. ivylander says Is this the same guy as Sang Hugh, who did a couple of great songs called "No Portion A Gal" and "Rasta No Born Yah" in the early Seventies?

  5. CrashPryor says Hugh Mundell was a protoge of Horace Swaby's I briefly I touched on this "during a post about Augustus Pablo":http://mog.com/CrashPryor/blog_post/18694 but, yeah, I agree...too bad he died so young...his vibe lives on though in Pablo's dub tracks (a lot of 'em found at the end of Africa Must be Free by 1983...it's good to see people aren't forgetting on Hugh...
