Michael Brook, guitarist, inventor, producer, etc.

Posted about 5 years ago
Michael Brook was recently back in the news. The Canadian (he's not from the U.K.) guitarist, inventor, producer, and film music composer wrote the score for the Academy Award-winning documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth" starring Al Gore.I remembered having liked Brook's 1992 solo record "Cobalt Blue" so I gave his latest (2006) solo effort "RockPaperScissors" a spin. I loved it and I suggest you give it a listen. The whole album is quite good and brings a 'filmic' experience. You close your eyes and your mind will provide the moving images. "RockPaperScissors" offers quite a variety but ambient and world music dominate.I especially loved the haunting "Want" featuring Lisa Germano. I hope you'll like it too.
