The Deadly Snakes (Rock)

Larry Graham made a name for himself as the bassist with Sly and the Family Stone and later started his own funky outfit Graham Central Station. This fantastic clip has Larry and his band performing an awesome jam. There's a couple of songs here "It Ain't No Fun to Me" and "Release Yourself", which he introduces with the line "you cannot release yourself sitting down". That's the truth. I think there's another song sandwiched in between ("shake it down" or something). Anyway, this should get your butt twitching.

I love that video like this exists. Zakary Thaks were a great garage band from the 60's, best known for their screamer "Bad Girl" which has popped up on compilations from time to time. Here they do a cover of Love's interpretation of "Little Red Book" and thankfully not the Manfred Man version. Rocking.

great song. i like the sycronized choreography the bass and guitar player have going on.
The Lyres at their best in 1979. Monoman at the helm. Doing a track from their first single.

Aw, looks like I came across this post a little too late, as the you tube video isn't up anymore.
That's a shame. It was a great clip from about 1974 and was from what appeared to be a televised club performance.
