The Faint announce date/tracklist for Fasciinatiion!

Posted about 4 years ago
FINALLY we have a date for the excruciatingly long-awaited new Faint album. I got an email from the website today announcing that the big date for Fasciinatiion is the 5th of August, woohoo! Also, surprisingly, the band have split from Saddle Creek records and are releasing the album on their own label, Blank Wav. According to Pitchfork, the guys wrote, recorded, produced, art directed and released entirely on their own. Impressive! The album has been long in the making - their last album Wet From Birth was released in 2004 and apparently they started working on Fasciinatiion in 2006! Extreme perfectionism is the issue here. Let's hope it's worth the wait. These guys can do no wrong in my eyes.Pitchfork also posted the tracklist, which I hadn't seen:01 Get Seduced02 The Geeks Were Right03 Machine in the Ghost04 Fulcrum and Lever05 Psycho06 Mirror Error07 I Treat You Wrong08 Forever Growing Centipedes09 Fish in a Womb10 A Battle Hymn for ChildrenI can't wait to hear Forever Growing Centipedes...Oh and they've announced a tour of the U.S. around the same time. Very jealous. With Conor Oberst's new solo album released just the day before this I'm going to be in musical heaven!

  1. Dale says Nice, I'm quite excited to hear this. Wonder why the break from Saddle Creek, though. Is there dissention in the ranks in Omaha?

  2. laura27 says I heard a rumour a while back that they had been dropped by Saddle Creek but I highly doubt that's the case. I'm sure it was an amicable split, fueled by... well I can't really imagine what their motive was.
