WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Muse - best live band I've ever seen

Posted about 1 year ago
I've seen Muse live twice now, once back in 2004 on their Absolution tour, and again in November 06 on their Black Holes tour.

The two shows were very different, the first being in an average-sized venue, the second being in a huge arena. As a result, at the first show I was right at the front, squashed against the barrier, a few feet from those musical gods, being deafened by the decibels.

At the recent show I was about half way back, which is a fair distance in a massive arena and I could barely see the band. And as useful as those big screens are, it wasn't the same as seeing them up close as I had before. However, it was still a great show.

But the one thing that both these shows had in common was an energy and atmosphere that I've never felt at any other gig. I don't know if it's the extravagance and epicness of their music or the amazing stage presence and showmanship of Matt Bellamy or maybe both, but I rate them as my personal best live act.

I cannot wait to hear their follow-up to Black Holes... assuming there will be one. I can't imagine them bringing out anything I wouldn't like.

This song is one of my favourites, and the highlight of their live shows.

  1. YellowBird- says I cannot wait for their follow-up to Black Holes either :D. It shall surely be amazing. What were you going to upload? I could not have picked a more perfect band to have romantic affiliation with. They will be remembered for a very long time I think, so when I'm driving in my car 30 years from now and I hear a classic from their hay day I can be overwhelmed with love and nostalgia. Can't wait :)

  3. laura27 says Yeah, I got into them after Origin of Symmetry but I wish I could say I've been a die hard fan since Showbiz lol. I hope you do get to see them at some stage, everyone should at least once in my opinion!
