Om on the mountain

Posted almost 3 years ago

I wanted to share pictures from last weekend and check in with people at Mog. I also wanted to express where my musical head is at........Om is very nice.

It was 2 days hiking in the Adirondacks. The first day above cool and sunny. Everyone was happy and optimistic.

The second day below was cold and rainy. I would post the other photo but they were lost with the first casualty of the expedition, my wet iPhone. Good riddance!

    Thanks earthman.

The first day was about 45 degrees F, the second day was also about 40 but as I said rainy and the pathway up was a river of ice, the winter ice had not melted yet.

Hey Lak! That looks awesome!!! I really miss this time of year back east.....

And the iPhone, well, it can take a beating, but it sure don't like moisture! Nope, not one bit!   BUT.... it's a great phone for throwing! Dense and kinda aerodynamic. Perfect for skipping across a pond.

    Love the Om. Thanks!

Cold and rainy, not my thing.  Although I could put up with it I for the spectacular views I'm sure you were witness to along the way.

Om--not sure I'm into it or not.  This is one I'll have to revisit once or twice.

Definitely a chilly weekend for some hiking.  Sorry to hear the iphone went south...did you have a compass app on it like in those groovy commercials?

Thanks, Nordico.  It was a fun time.  I'd like to go back in a few weeks for a few more days.  Colden Mountain may be our next one.  And the iPhone, as I said I'm glad it's gone.

Hey, Groon.  It was nice.  I'll try to get some of the other pictures maybe from my brother.

I didn't like Om for a long time either.  My brother had given me the CD a while ago and I never could get through 2 or 3 minutes.  I started to really get into it when I knit or do something repetitive.  10 minute+ song that have just one or two accents/high points can be very nice.  You like when 6 minutes into a song the drummer or singer does one thing different, it can mean a lot.  It's better than a drummer or guitarist just soloing all the way through a song.  Then who cares.

Hi Dharma.  Inever saw the commercials but I have to agree with another mogger who once said : A phone should be just a phone....and that's what I got.

The name Om is very fitting for their music.  They are to rock what the trance genere is to electronica.  They don't stick to me, I think I'd have to ease into them like yourself.

    Thanks, P-wagz.

Yes by listening alone it takes time.  Take a look at this and see if it changes anything.  I think it's awesome.
