Broken Social Scene, for teh win?

Posted over 5 years ago
So I've been seeing these guys everywhere on MOG. Apparently EVERYONE likes them, so I downloaded an album. So far so good. If this keeps up (I'm not even through the first song, but I like what I hear) I shall be pleased as... well as pleased as I can be about finding a new good band. ;)... The second song (which has just started) is interesting in the ways I like it. This might very well make my autumn playlist. It's nice and low-key.Anyway, I know this is nothing that people haven't already heard, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in for good measure.

  2. kNewIt says True story. I am a huge fan of BSS and everything that comes from them. They have about 15 or more members rotating in and out of the band at all times. Most of the members are all in other bands. Stars, Metric, and Feist are BSS offshoots that kick ass. dp

  4. SWozniak says I bought their self-titled album after talking to a friend (who also just happens to be on Mog) about them. Awesome stuff. I've got Feist's Open Season now, too.

  5. that1guy says I wasn't a big fan of Feist's Open Season, or even BSS self titled album sans a few songs. You Forgot it in People is where it's at with two turn tables and a microphone.

  6. tybees says I only heard You Forgot it in People a few months ago and I didn't stop playing it for several days. My favorite is "Shampoo Suicide". The self-titled record is so-so for me but I haven't given it enough listens to form an honest opinion yet.

  7. seasonoftheshark says they are by far the best live performance I have ever seen. they played for two hours and by the end it was just a huge indie rock dance party with hundreds of people just dancing and having a wonderful time. if you like them definetly get into Feist.
