MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

DBTs aren't the only ones with a Southern rock opera.

Working band. Heck of a wage, too old to preach.

(Do you love her like no other?)

I'm a ghost and I don't think I quite know where we're gonna go. My cold cold sailor heart says get on your way. I try so awful hard but I can't change. Can't stop running from the demon in my head. It's safe to say if I don't get this out of me I might quite easily end up dead or just mad.

It's my show. I must go with my soul. It's my role, it's my show.

(What are ya gonna do? Settle down, or get those songs out? Is there even a choice?)

We'd be so free.

(She must be plum crazy. I kind of think I like her. Kind of think I do.)

KoL rock! \m/ Such a cool group of dudes...saw them at Coachella but I really want to see them again in a more intimate venue. "On Call" blew me away the first time I heard it...

Isn't it, aren't they? Hell ya.

I don't usually offer up this opinion, since it is subjective after all, but I just can't see how a person would not like this album. To me it has classic written all over it.

Now - I must go to band practice. It's my show, it's my role. ;)

Nice to see you fine ladies.

Great. Check them out on the recent album they made with Soul Queen, Bettye LaVette "The Scene of the Crime", which has earned her a Grammy nomination:

Hey, great Bryan, thanks! They're on that too? Very cool.

Yeah, that's what I thought first time I heard it, Colin. :)

Ray, Jeff, you guys haven't already gotten around to checking it out? Or have you? I dunno, I think these guys have a great sound. Damn decent rhythm section, that's for sure. The drums sound so crisp on this one too, I likey.

And yeah, I can be a real sucker for smart lyrics delivered with a healthy does of gumption. Not to mention the whole conflicted soul thing. I mean, who isn't?

Yea Kristiana I heard the 30 sec. sample and heard the rhythm section. Really cool, dig the bass overdrive tone and great drumming!

Get the album.

Ya really gotta wonder about the effect on these kids in bands that are doing all right for themselves, all the touring. I mean, touring has always been a part of the life. But is there more pressure for more touring now? Now that fewer people are buying music?

Think touring more has been the norm for many years now & I would do it if possible. Even back in the 80's bands like Iron Maiden would tour for years non-stop. There are so many bands now a days & I could see the record industry wanting that. I heard for many years bands would get a financial backing or more of a loan from a record co. & would sometimes get dropped & expect to pay it back with intrest. Sounds like the new pay to play. You really don't have your Zeps, Floyds, Sabs, even Tool or Pearl Jam anymore. Usually 1-3 releases...

Like I said, the Southern rock opera, about being kids on the road and some of what it entails.

Ya wanna listen to it in order too, for sure. Like most good things. :)

Rhapsody ain't lettin' me play their songs - something about the wrong platform. But I have heard this one, and without question it rawks. I know my 15-year-old, whose tastes are usually a little more metally, likes these guys. They could turn out to be somebody we bond over.....

Good to see you posting again, K. Life good?
