  1. kristiana says In my typical style lately, a drive-by posting. I am indeed still alive and kicking. Every other week I have my friend & bandmate's two kids to hang out with all day, and just started volunteering at the art gallery with the art education program, which I have to run off to in about half an hour. Plus I have to keep tabs on the 5 men in my band, and keep writing songs. As far as that goes, we recently added a 2nd bass player. Despite still adjusting we hope to play our first shows next month, first my 34th birthday party at my dad's place at the lake (weather permitting), and possibly opening for The Mahones. So YAAAA! Spring has arrived, and how. Allow me a moment of cheese - "In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." If Al can say that, then, hey.

  2. Bartleby says Hey, it's nice to hear from you -- I'll see your cheese and raise with some Lennon: "life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans" So hey ya too ;)

  5. brand X says Ah, that hit me in a spot that needed to be hit tonight. It sounds so good to my ears tonight I almost want to cry. I'm trying to find a way I can live in this song for the rest of the night, but I'm having no luck. So, thanks for saying hey.

  6. leftoverking says keeping tabs on five men (by that you must mean "yo bitches on the side"), you truly are a playah k. happy spring to ya!

  7. kristiana says Ha, Jeff! You know it. For instance, right now I'm trying to round them up for practice and can't seem to find one of them. When I get ahold of that bitch's ass she's - I mean, he's - gonna know it. I'm too hungover for this shit today. I know, eh Matt? I found a way to live in that song tonight - I always wanted to cover it, and this time I'm not taking no for an answer from the band-mates. The other bass player has always wanted to cover it too, that helps. And last night I was hanging at the drummer's house and I started playing it on my bass and he started drumming along on his practice pad with maracas which was a nice surprise as I hadn't expected him to have learned it. He's the one who always says no to most cover suggestions. I could play this song all night. If my own songs weren't so good too. :) I expect it to be a totally foolish night. I'll report in tomorrow.

  9. kristiana says AWEsome. ;) They really are a bunch of bitches sometimes. A coupla them anyway. My girlfriends all think I'm pretty crazy to be in a band with this many men, lol. They do have a point sometimes though. Tonight we're forsaking the Church of RocknRoll and heading to the remote woods. To the place where I saw the coyotes actually. Seemed like a good omen, wha? My dad's totally gonna take the piss outta them, what fun! Just wait till the 12 gauge comes out, hahaha. Oh, and hey yerselves big B and Dale! Sorry abut my previous oversight, I didn't get to bed till 7am and now am off again.

  12. Groon says Hey yrself! Two bass players? Pretty crazy there. I can only think of a couple of bands that have pulled that off succesfully. Three, actually. Now I'm intrigued.

  13. kristiana says Oh, we're gonna pull it off! And how! We compliment each other pretty well though, really. He has a 5 string bass and tunes it weird and wonderful. I guess he would be the lead bass, and I'm the rhythm bass?? :) We just had the best practice of all these past months, I'm super excited. Now we just need to get a decent recording done. I'll definitely let yas know when that gets done.
