Continuing on with my werewolf theme, with a Canadian folkie reference!     kristiana says Hey Ray! I was just thinking of you today - hey guess what? Just added a 2nd bass player to the band, heh heh. Hello to you Dale, been forever, I know! It is indeed warming up, I gots the fever! AAoOOO! Ray, the bears were already in Canada ;) But while we're talking about wildlife, and wolves - I had some encounters with coyotes this past weekend. I always got something up my sleeve when I make these posts. ;)

    RGM says Thats way cool, you got a Stanley Clarke thing going on there. I was thinking about something like that, but nothings got off the ground yet. Might just jump into another band eventually. Leave the Deadmans Orchestra stuff just to online. We hear wolves howl here from time to time. Had some coyotes on our property not to long ago. Heard them howl. It was creepy sounding. Came across them one time when I was living in CA. That was a little scary. Hear them polars like to chomp on peeps. They be down hear soon, the caps are melting. Better pull out the grill for them lol.

    I am says 'Loup Garou' shows up in a Johnny Quest episode called "Werewolf of the Timberland". I know your really surprised that I know that. What is really surprising, is that I had heard this song before. kris, I bet you like Black Oak Arkansas too. Your one of those lighter babes yelling for an encore, aren't you? Awesome tune.

A coworker said to some other asshole the other day, "Matt's trying to kill me with this song." Referring to this song: which I had been playing on repeat for about two hours. Somehow, I guess, the werewolf theme had contacted me.

Matt! I shoulda known you'd hear the call of the wild - no surprise at all, my friend. You didn't miss much - it was another post I had made featuring that very same song you've posted. It's been stuck in my brain since I heard it too. Thanks for the welcome, I'll try my best. I've just got other things on the brain and the go at the moment. But I do miss and think about my favorite moggers, most of whom are here in this thread. :) Now you guys want a story right? C'mon, you do, right? A few weeks ago I was playing around with this riff I liked. Wasn't sure what I would do with it, but started to write some lyrics, ya know, typical Odysseus/Siren type thing. Turned into a werewolf thing too, or instead, wasn't quite sure. I had to miss a band practice a coupla weekends ago, and Marc, the guy who is now the 2nd bassist in the band showed up (we had already discussed the possibility, it wasn't a bass coup or anything) and they worked on a song of his. The following weekend we're all there, and they decide to show me the song. The riff I had been working on fit perfectly with it. It sounded great. I says to Marc, this song makes me think of werewolves. And Marc, he says, "that's funny. I'm writing a book about werewolves." That would be funny enough. But, as usual, there's more....but I need coffee.

    kristiana says While my dad and my stepmom were away in New Orleans, I went out and enjoyed some alone time at their home at the lake. They live at the very end of a road which during this time of the year only has one neighbour on it, and then, they're not within sight. It feels pretty alone and tranquil out there. That kinda silence, when the wind isn't blowing, that really grounds you. A friend had dropped me off Thursday night, and I needed a ride to band practice Friday night. So Marc offered to come get me. I had my bass and guitar with me, but hadn't touched either yet. Late friday afternoon I picked up my bass and started playing. The dog started to get wigged out, I thought it was just my playing. But he was looking towards the window with his ears perked up. Shortly after, I went out back to dig a fire pit. Had to shovel down through about 2 feet of snow and ice. When I stopped for a breather, looking out across the frozen beaver pond, I had the distinct feeling of being watched. I'm not paranoid, I don't go around feeling like this often. Anyone who spends a fair amount of time in the wilderness, say hunting, is probably familiar with this sensation. Ya just know. About an hour later I'm on the phone with my girlfriend, out on the deck having a smoke, and towards the end of our conversation while talking about encounters with wildlife, I hear a single howl. Cool. We get off the phone a coupla minutes later, and I head in to the washroom. The window in the washroom faces out towards the beaver pond, and every time I go in I look out towards it expecting that sometime I'll see some animal. Thus far I had only seen eagles. But just as I get to the window - 3 coyotes (good sized ones too, I might add) go zooming across the pond. After I catch my breath I run to the side of the house hoping to see them, but in the 20 seconds or so it took me, they were outta sight. I kept watching and listening for the next hour. Nada. Marc finally arrives to pick me up, and as he gets out of the car - we hear them. (remember, Marc is the other bass player who is writing the book about werewolves, and who wrote basically the same riff as me. about werewolves.) ;) And that was it. Till Sunday night.
