Here's a band that deserves a whole lot more attention in my opinion:Konono No. 1 is a Congolese band that blends low-tech electronics with traditional intrumentation and songwriting. It's a great alternative to the either/or dichotomy that currently dominates modern African music (i.e. - either the high gloss RealWorld afro-pop or the fetishism of the traditional found on Nonesuch, et. al.)
