My moment of prescience

Posted about 5 years ago
In 1983, I had this incredibly hot Dutch boyfriend. In the spring of that year, I went to Holland to visit him, and discovered that the average radio station was playing much cooler songs than we were hearing back home. There were three songs in particular that I really loved, and I had Dirk (the i.h.D.b.) buy the 45s and send them to me. (45s! sounds so quaint, doesn't it?) Anyway, this was one of them. The other two were Peter Schilling's "Major Tom," and...wait for it!...Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams are Made of This."Needless to say, within a few months, they were all over both MTV and American radio. But I have always looked at that spring as my moment in the sun as a hitmaker...

  2. klg19 says Your secret's safe with me, dj ivi. I swear, this song practically brought back the synthesizer single-handed.
