No band will ever hold a candle to the originality offered by such an amazing band. Every song bursts with an energy and soul that has no equal. I can't remember the first time I heard The Clash, and it really doesn't matter. The music has a familiar feel to it- a natural flow as though I've always known it. Does that even make any sense? The songs inspire me, challenge me, make me feel compelled to take action and change the world. Brilliant. Just brilliant. I wish I had been able to see a show. I was so shocked and sad when Joe Strummer passed away. He injected political awareness into punk rock and gave music a new voice. He left behind a legacy. I wish I could have shaken his hand and told him just how much The Clash has influenced my life. What a great band!
