Aerosmith Singer Steven Tyler Enters Rehab

Posted about 2 years ago

After a whirlwind two months that found the rest of the band implying Steven Tyler was kicked out of Aerosmith and rampant speculation that the singer was addicted to painkillers, the announcement has been made that Tyler has entered rehab. In a story published by Rolling Stone tonight, Tyler said that he was in a Boston rehab center and also put the Aerosmith breakup rumors to rest:

"I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumored two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false and I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled."

Obviously, this isn't the first time that Tyler has checked himself into rehab, first entering in 1986 and experiencing over 20 years of sobriety before once again checking in for "foot surgeries and physical therapy" last year before admitting it was for painkiller addiction months later.

While most of us were led to believe Tyler had since recovered, but apparently things took a turn for the worse, with the first warning sign occurring when the 61-year-old singer fell off the stage during a show in August. Of course, the whole messy-back-and-forth about whether Joe Perry kicked Tyler out of the band has been raging for nearly two months, and it appears that this is the end of it. We wish Steven Tyler a speedy (and complete) recovery, and for Aerosmith to get back to rocking ASAP.
