MOG Exclusive: Hear a New Simian Mobile Disco Song

It's been a hell of a year for Simian Mobile Disco: there was the massively successful stadium tour (culminating with a gigantic New Year's Show at Brixton Academy), member James Ford's well-received production work for artists like the Arctic Monkeys and Florence and the Machine, and, most importantly, their incredible new album Temporary Pleasure. A star-studded affair featuring singers like Beth Ditto of the Gossip, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Jamie Lidell, and Yeasayer's Chris Keating, the duo truly took it to the next level by taking their billion-bpm beats in a poppier direction. For those that were more inclined towards the new songs resembling their signature breakneck electro, though, we've got a surprise for you: a new song!

What we can tell you about "Aspic" is that it's a live version of the track recorded as part of the iTunes festival in London earlier this year. Also, we'd be foolish not to mention that it otally rules and it's very appropriate to play at the Thanksgiving rave you're planning with your parents. Fans who have seen SMD either DJ or perform live this year in support of Temporary Pleasure have likely heard this song sprinkled throughout the set, and they'll be glad to finally have it in a tangible form. We don't want to pester you with anymore background info, because frankly the neighbors are going to look at us funny for dancing to this track so early in the day, anyway.
