Sonic Youth Perform At, Officiate Wedding on Gossip Girl

I'll preface this by saying that though I know many people who watch the show, I've never seen an episode of Gossip Girl before. In fact, this clip is the first time I've ever seen the show, and it took a seriously head-scratching guest appearance for me to take a look: noise-rockers Sonic Youth show up not only as a wedding band, but bassist Kim Gordon officiates the ceremony. Gordon jokes that she, like most of us bored on the Internet, got her license via the Universal Life Church, and then gives the official go-ahead to characters Lily and Rufus. Meanwhile, the band gets stuck in the background playing music at the wedding, where none of the attractive, upper-class characters seem to notice or care that a legendary indie rock group is playing their wedding. Not surprised by this at all. The Flaming Lips played the Peach Pit on the first 90210. Death Cab played the Bait Shack on The OC. Why not have Sonic Youth on Gossip Girl?
now that was fun...
The Meat Puppets appeared in the pilot of BH 90210..that had me watching that show for a few years.
