Death Set Co-Founder Beau Velasco, RIP

Posted over 2 years ago

A bit of unexpected news to start the week with... late last night, Baltimore punks the Death Set reported on their Twitter that co-founder, singer, and co-songwriter Beau Velasco has passed away:

R.I.P. my dear brother, friend and band mate Beau Velasco. For all those who wish to pay their respects I will let know soon. - THEDEATHSET

The loss is sure to send shockwaves to DIY scenes across the country, as the Death Set serve as one of their top ambassadors. The band released their debut full-length, Worldwide, which brought them critical acclaim from many major outlets for their electro-infused brand of punk-rap. However, Beau and the rest of the Death Set were likely best known for their intense live show, which brought fans into a frenzy as the music got crazier with every song in venues that were more often than not warehouses. Beau will be dearly missed, and once more is known about the circumstances of his death, check back here for more information.

Meanwhile, if you never got the chance to see the Death Set live, check out this photo set on Drivenbyboredom.com.
