music that moves my soul

Have you ever heard a toon that once you heard it, it always stops you cold makes you immediately flash back to a moment and in that moment all that you felt, heard and experienced, came rushing back? Well I have a song and a moment where all of my emotions and senses come crashing into a split second of time and the tune opens the box, in my mind, where I can relieve that moment at my leisure, feel the flood of those emotions, and for a second in time,be in that moment.
It was on my first trip to the island of Oahu,Hawaii. We were on our last nite after experiencing the most incredible vacation, in the most incredible place that I have ever been. The reluctance to leave "paradise" and the thought of boarding a plane, returning to home and work, after experiencing such a place was inconcievable. But depart we must, and resume or lives with only thoughts and memories of this wonderful place.
So on this last night, we decided to attend the weekly event of "movies on the beach" a free event sponsored by the city of Honolulu. It's on Queens beach next to Waikiki. After having a wonderful time of meeting new friends, sharing food and laughs and a typical "Hawaii nite on the beach" it was time to pack up and go home to our final nite in paradise.
As we're picking up and getting ourselfs together, a music video appears on the large inflatable movie screen. The image there made everyone stop, stare and remain motionless as we gazed at the screen. The song was "I miss you my Hawaii" by the 3girl band called Na Leo Palimenhana. They are local girls that sing in the fashion of Wilson Phillips, but words and music of the hawaiian flavor. This song speaks of the longing and the missing they have when away from this beautiful place and how they must return or the heartache and homesickness will overwhelm them and the longing for home.
The song is one of longing and deep emotion that touched me deeply.I havent been back to "MY Hawaii" since 2006.I play this song daily, linger in those memories and will grieve untill I "touch the sands of Waikiki" This song is now in the soundtrack of my life...and "I miss you my Hawaii"....Mahalo, aloha..Keonih

I know exactly what you mean about this song. I just got back from my 5th trip to Hawaii in April. Everytime I hear I Miss You My Hawaii, My heart and soul so long for my "Mana Home"
I usually start tearing up whenever I hear this
