i've really been experimenting with checking out as much new music as possible, considering my top bands are either dismantled (phish,dead), not touring (mmj, beth orton, ani), or touring but not near me (police, wilco). the past year i've dug my heels into new live music, some i've really gotten off from (slip, midlake) and some good to mediocre (shins, decemberists)....but the slip just goes in that groove, they just get IN there so we can get OUT there, or whatever other cliche sounds good to you....it was just nice to get my party on and stand right up close and get my groove on.
