I'm not sure why Beth Orton can't do the midnight shift for the birds of prey or Hitchcock shaped birds living in the 7 barked cypress outside my flat. Or fill in for every commercial verbage, "brilliant" on WCup, or gingerly pump through the speakers while I hurriedly shuffle Blake from market to naptime. I'm just not sure why she can't sing me to sleep every night, or wake me every morning.
