WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Cool It Now

Posted over 3 years ago
The other day, I got a hankerin' to hear New Edition. They were the shit when I was in 7th grade. I remember hanging out at my best friend's grandma's house and making up routines to every single song on the album. And yes, it was an album. There is a picture floating around somewhere in my life from that exact day. I am wearing some horrible white sweatshirt with animals all over it and an electric blue pageboy cap. I thought I was sooooo cool.Despite this album being the most sugary of all the pop albums in the world, and a total rip-off of the Jackson 5, I love it.Every single song (I still know all the words, by the way) is just perfect. That's one of the many reasons why I ♥ the internet.Any nostalgic whim or craving can be satisfied in mere minutes.Plus there's something sorta hopeful about listening to Bobby Brown before the jail and drugs and stuff. Hey Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike- if I like a girl who cares who you like?

  2. SamTheButcher says That's hilarious. I remember, when I was in 9th grade, this album helped me get over the crappy situation with my girlfriend, who was in 7th grade. :) I had a little dance routine for "Cool it Now" as well, very suited toward that whole Motown line of singers doing their little orchestrated moves. Can you believe how f'ed up Bobby Brown is now?!? :)
