1. I own more tracks by Tom Waits than by The Minutemen. That's quite an accomplishment, given the brevity of the Minutemen's tracks.
2. I own more tracks by Elmer Bernstein than by Apples in Stereo.
3. I should really move my sound effects library out of my iTunes library.
Presidential candidates were asked last week about what the latest CD they bought is. The New York Post reports:

I have questions.
First, does anyone believe these answers are honest, and not just research-driven confections?
I don't.
And assuming they are pollster-created, why on earth would Barack Obama's people tell him to say he recently bought the "Ray" soundtrack instead of buying a Ray Charles album?
Also, it's a good thing I was never planning on voting for Hillary, 'cause the Carly Simon reference would have driven me away.

So are we supposed to choose the next President based on what kind of music he/she likes/bought? Looking over the list, it's "None of the above" for now. (Could Gary Sinise be persuaded to run? I'd like to hear him and "The Lt. Dan Band" continue what they're doing overseas and domestically.) I wonder if George W. can do Marty Robbins?
