Satellite Party, Perry Farrell's new band has signed a deal with Columbia Records and will be releasing a new CD soon. As only Perry can explain "It's about a collective of artists fine artists, musicians and dancers that do flash mobs, A riot occurs at one of the flash mobs because they're illegal, and the chief musician ends up in the hospital, where he meets the lovely night nurse. He asks for a radio to be brought into the hospital, chats up the nurse, gets a crush on her, and they listen to the radio together. And then one night there's a vast visitation of energy through the radio that is actually a summons to come to the satellite party in the heavens." "I want to make it where it's like a dance party and people are participating in the Satellite Party themselves."
It sounds like there will be guest appearances by lots of cool artists including John Frusciante and Fergie among them.

i am highly skeptical of this new musical direction, but i'll reserve judgment as much as possible until i hear it...
