MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

(102)

right now my ipod has a sprain. it was given by electrelane. love love love their latest album. and thanks to a suggested piece of info from the all knowing soulrocket i found some b-sides too!

ever listen to a song and it gives you the goose bumps?

so i saw herbie hancock at the free jazz fest several weekends ago, here's a shot of that. he was amazing, a living legend. the guys gotta be what, -eighty?- (err... no, according to moovyphreak he recently turned 67.) either way he is still jamming and getting all funky up and out there.

and i saw great lake swimmers several nights ago and here's a shot of tony dekker. how amazing, and eleni mendell opened for him. great show, highly recommend (if that means anything...)

also, somehow i walked into a sleepytime gorilla museum show, not truly my taste but they had some homemade instruments. ever see a bass harmonica? that thing is the size of her head.

a moment of right now on bar (that's my girl...)

god damn. i do love this city. and if i wasn't throwing a house party tonight my priority would be to either attend the feist/grizzly bear show at the varitey or see snowden at the earl. shapes and sizes and the national played on wednesday night but it was sold out!

no barking!

Nice song. I have never heard of Electrelane before. Thanks.

Just my opinion, but you need to cancel the house party and get your bum down to the Feist show. You are missing out...I am tellin ya.

marigold: i know! what bad timing! oh well, next time i suppose, i don't think she's going anywhere anytime soon and she'll be back this way. missing grizzly bear actually hurts the most.

msquared: thanks for that upload. BETA BAND - they are amazing! aweman, if only THEY had a reunion instead... love the rock progression in this. taste's perfect.

gerekriss: (:

Herbie Hancock celebrated his 67th birthday on April 12th.

It's been forever since I've heard that Beta Band track.

Thanks for posting it.
