what a fun last couple of weeks. to quickly wrap up i saw "_lez zeppelin,_":http://www.lezzeppelin.com/ an all-female _led zeppelin_ tribute band. i won the tickets from the local college radio station and wasn't really sure what i was in for. needless to say, steph paynes _was_ jimmy page. holy shit, i was screaming like a little girl, and the bassist melted my face (john paul jones would be proud). then last wednesday, "_scout niblett_":http://toopure.com/scoutniblett/ and _st. vincent._ scout was exactly how i pictured her. powerful, concise, loud and passionate. her set was way to short, but i tell you, seeing her screech and stomp with maybe 40 other people was pretty fucking intense. then last night it was "_scissors for lefty_":http://www.scissorsforlefty.com/ScissorsForLefty.html and _pela._ what can i say about this show? if you get a chance to see scissors for lefty you must do it!!! now that is what i call a fun time. five guys on this little stage, jamming away. the lead guy came down in the audience, serenaded this chick - he reminds me a great deal of jarvis cocker. at random times the bassist would jump down and dance around with all the hipsters shaking what there mama's gave 'em. their theatrics were not to trump the actual talent these guys have. i have to say, that may have been the best show of the year. well, no, the best show of the year so far goes to modest mouse. now that was...anyway, next on the list is... ben kweller, and possibly interpol. actually defintely interpol, they are playing at the tabernacle! very cool venue - old church, dusty lounges, every seat has a great view. and since i don't have any _scissors for lefty_ mp3's, here's a little pinback for yew all. i don't know, it's what i was listening to on the way into work this morning. i am falling in love all over again with their first album.hope you all have a delightful day
