WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

She's just so cute!

This is another song that I just cannot stop playing. Although she has been around for quite a bit, and made some waves in the music world, I had never heard of her until a few months back. The Mannasseh remix of this song (quite close to the original) was playing at my work, so I wrote it down and checked her out. You can hear that remix on her myspace page "here":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=10909333. There have been a few MOG posts about her and her new album, Fisherman's Woman, which I am going to try my best and pick up. The coolest unknown fact to me was that she has toured and collaborated with Theivery Corporation, and means I have heard her before, I just had no idea. Here is a live performance of the song Sunnyroad:The video is a touching little love story... "here":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyuL1z2tejs.

  2. Marco1019 says While I can't watch Youtube clips from work, I can always appreciate Emiliana Torrini. :) She was in the group *gusgus* during their early years. Check out their first album, _Polydistortion_. Since you're familiar with her work with *Thievery Corporation*, I'm guessing you like the track "Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes".

  3. garrick says I LOVE HER! Her lilting voice and delicate words are like a summer shower of tingly raindrops, and the production is high without going over the top. I'm embarrassed to say I discovered her when they used one of her songs on some teen angst television show (The OC? The Gilmore Girls? Party of One Tree Creek 90210?) but I guess it doesn't matter how you discover a great artist, as long as you discover them, eh? Whatever gets me to sleep at night, yeah, I know.... Thanks K8 for helping me decide what to listen to this morning!

  8. Truth says Ive seen her perform Thievery Corporation a couple of times. "Heaven’s Gonna Burn Your Eyes" definitely a great track. She was one of those voices that I always forgot to investigate and match up with a name. Like you, Ive "heard her and had no idea" Reminds me of Hope Sandoval in a number of ways.

  12. Foraggio says I love how she sings that line in a French accent ... "I know that night, I said I 'ad to go". Aww 8girl ... so cute is not enough. Beautiful. It's given me a big sunny smile to take with me down the sunny roads I stroll from now on :-) xx
