Funny thing is, that back in the prehistoric MOG days, you couldn't upload music at all. People just talked about records and themselves, and politics, and shoes..things were good. At this point posting music is pretty much standard, but I think if you have something to say and don't wanna post music, you could do that.

Welcome! Yeah, just click around. Nothing is ever taken from your hard drive without you uploading it. MOG does let you post your music collection so people can take a virtual tour of your music but they can't take it.
Rhapsody subscribers can stream a lot of the music that people have but it's all paid for. You can stream up to 25 tracks for free too but have to download the Rhapsody plug-in.
I suggest searching for some artists you like, reading the posts and see who else is listening to them. Then you can see what else those folks are listening to and so on.
Hope this helps!

just to vouch for what these folks are saying, mog doesn't take anything off your computer unless you specifically upload it. it does catalog the names of what you have so it knows what you listen to. that's what makes all the cool features work, like the recommendations and magic button, etc...
if you have questions, just post about them. as you can see, lots of peeps are eager to be helpful.
welcome to the village! :)
but no, its not stealing, its just wierd magic buttons that are kind of unexplained, and then things go off to no-where until you can figure out how to find them.
